Liberals set to call emergency debate on Robocalls

Shortly after Question Period Monday, the Liberals will rise in the House of Commons to ask for an emergency debate on the “Robocall” scandal.
It’ll be up to the Speaker of the House whether the debate is needed.
Interim leader Bob Rae says this controversy is similar to the political tactics of Richard Nixon.
“We’re entering into a kind of Nixonian moment in our political culture where all kinds of dirty tricks seem to be possible and encouraged” says Rae.
Elections Canada has traced the phone calls to a company that had been hired by the Conservative Party, but the Tories deny they’re involved.
On Friday, a staffer for a Conservative MP lost his job although no one is saying if it’s related.
It’s not yet clear if this “Robocall” issue is enough to overturn any of the results from the last election.
