A grade six class at Fairview School makes a heartfelt donation

After watching a presentation from the Alberta Rescue Foundation, the class was inspired to help the little puppies that came to visit them.
So, they decided to put together a fundraising drive and collect items to donate to ARF and to the Calgary Humane Society.
Herb Grieder with ARF tells 660News just how much the kids collected, “In excess of a thousand items, there were over 400 stuffed animals, stuffed toys, over 300 blankets, towels.”
Grieder says, he was in awe when he walked into the gym on Friday and saw the mountain of things sitting there due to the kids inspiring efforts.
“They had worked so hard at this event over the past two months. They had formed a committee and they had their own little jobs they did and just to see their eyes from all the hard work and the final results were just bubbling with enthusiasm when we showed up to collect the items.”
And he wanted to pass on this special message to the kids, “ARF graciously thanks the grade six class at Fairview School for all the hardwork and the donations they have given us, they will go a very far and long way.”
He says he won’t be surprised if this becomes an annual event.
