Calgary police have arrested and charged a man they suspect was involved in the Friday night shooting downtown.

24-year-old David Eugene Traynor of Calgary is now facing six charges including attempted murder and will appear in court Monday.

They say the incident took place at 10:20 p.m. on the LRT platform along 7th Avenue southwest.

Two men became involved in a verbal altercation when one of the men shot the other and then ran off.

Duty Inspector Shawn Wallace tells 660News they were able to nab their suspect after they released a surveillance photo of him on Saturday.

The injured man remains in hospital in critical condition.
