Veteran services could take hit when the feds roll out the budget

There are concerns that the release of the upcoming federal budget will have serious negative effects on services being provided to war vets and other Canadian Forces and RCMP members.
The Dominion President of the Royal Canadian Legion, Pat Varga, says this is no way to show appreciation to those that have served our country to keep us safe and free.
The legion feels the Federal Government should make the same commitment to its vets that the United Kingdom and United States have made, that’s by sparing veteran administrations from the cuts.
Legion Spokesperson Bob Butt tells 660News he has a real problem with the idea of replacing people with machines when it comes to dealing with veterans.
“The Federal Government has said they think they can replace people with technology and well, good luck and we don’t think that’s true,” says Butt.
He adds the possible cuts will send a negative message to anyone else looking to enter the military or RCMP and adds, the government should be in the business of helping out vets instead of making things more difficult for them.
