Canucks calling for responsible celebrations during playoffs

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Canucks have unveiled a new series of public service announcements, asking you to act responsibly.

The organization is also planning to financially contribute to city celebrations, but it isn’t saying exactly how much. Canucks CEO Victor de Bonis says some sort of six-figure contribution is expected to support community events.

“We haven’t played a playoff game yet, so really, it is a staggered approach to how things progess. It is not the most comfortable subject because we don’t want to jinx ourselves here,” he explains.

de Bonis tells us the new “This is our Home” campaign is part of the riot review recommendations. It is about unity, respect and civic pride.

“We showcase over 20 landmarks around the region. The fans, our current roster players and two very recognizable alumni are participating,” he notes.

The TV, radio and print ads show off the likes of the Sedins and others with the message of respecting your fellow fan.
