Peace Bridge controversy… again

The Peace Bridge just can’t stay out of the spotlight.
This time its making news because pedestrians are dodging traffic along Memorial Drive to use it, rather than walking an extra block to use a marked crosswalk.
City officials originally planned to move the traffic light at 7th Street to 8th Street, but Sunnyside residents were against the idea and it was nixed.
Now it’s expected that city planners will revisit the idea to prevent pedestrians from trying to navigate through traffic on one of Calgary’s busiest roads.
