SCAN shuts down problem home

A south east Calgary home has been shut down and will remain closed for three months.
The Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) Unit have been investigating the home on Pennsburg Way SE since 2010 when people complained of drug and prostitution related activity in the residence.
“This is another example of how SCAN can assist in reducing crime in our communities,” said Inspector Billy Kerr, SCAN South Manager. “Residents are entitled to feel safe in their homes and are encouraged to report any suspected illegal activity occurring at properties in their neighbourhoods.”
As of Friday, no one can be in the home until June 28th.
The Community Safety Order is in effect on that home for one year and the owner has to get the approval from SCAN before renting it out.
