Attempted abduction in the southwest

Police are searching for a man after an attempted abduction in the city’s southwest.

On Tuesday evening around 6, two girls aged 9 and 10 were walking in the 3400 block of 28 Avenue, when a vehicle pulled over and stopped.

Duty Inspector Chris Butler tells 660News the suspect from the car followed the girls and grabbed the 9-year old.

“The victim was lifted up completely off the ground in which time she began to fight by kicking and screaming. This resulted in the offender dropping her back to the ground and he ran to his car and fled the scene,” Butler says.

The vehicle is described as a 1990’s beige or gold four-door car and an ‘x’ may have been one of the letters on the license plate.

The offender is described as a white male in his 20’s approximately six feet tall, slender build with shorter brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a red T-shirt with a small Calgary Flames logo on the upper chest, beige pants and black shoes.
