Calgary man charged following separate drug busts

A 29-year-old Calgary man is charged following drug busts in a pair of northeast homes this week.
Police executed a search warrant in the 2300 block of 50 Street N.E. and arrested a man who was inside.
During that search, officers confiscated $1,500, drug trafficking paraphernalia, powder and crack cocaine, and a loaded 9-mm handgun.
On Wednesday, officers executed a separate warrant at a home on Saddlecrest Gardens N.E. where they found 639 marijuana plants worth an estimated $798,750.
Khalil Oday Fares faces eight drug and weapons-related charges.
