Fire in strip mall

Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire at a strip mall in the Mount Royal area Saturday morning.
The blaze broke out in a convenience store at 26th Ave and 14th St. SW just after 6 o’clock.
The fire was right next door to the scene of another fire on Friday.
Calgary Fire Department Battallion Chief Ernie Molineaux tells 660News both buildings are under renovation.
“Construction sites sometimes have the reputation of having accidents, whether it’s improper smoking material or sparks from construction equipment, whatever the case may be but whether they (these two) are linked, that will be investigated. There’s nothing saying that they’re suspicious at this time, though,” says Molineaux.
Molineaux says the latest fire was quickly put out, with fairly minor damage to the structure.
