Massive street brawl downtown

Calgary Police estimate they had no fewer than 10 units on hand to break up a street brawl outside the Ubu Lounge in the 600 block of 1st Street Southwest early Monday morning.
Duty Inspector Paul Stacey tells 660News, when closing time rolled around, it appears a hockey game broke out outside the downtown watering hole.
“There were some reports from the people who were calling it in that there were 150 people that were fighting out on the streets,” says Stacey, who says police arrived at the scene just before 2:30am. “And they were using weapons such as belts and bottles to fight against each other.”
“Our own officers estimated that there were approximately 100 people and pockets of fights all over the place,” Stacey continues. “We were quite busy for some time, dispersing the people and sending them on their way. Nobody wanted to claim to be a victim. We did see a few people with some bloody noses and the like.”
Since no complaints were filed, police left the scene without making any arrests or laying any charges.
Police have no idea what prompted the street fight.
