Canmore elects new mayor

A longtime Canmore resident and businessman has been elected the new town mayor in a by-election Tuesday.

John Borrowman was picked yesterday to replace Mayor Ron Casey as he takes on a new role as Tory MLA for Banff-Cochrane.

Borrowman, a councillor since 2004, operates a pottery studio called Of Cabbages & Kings.

The results have yet to be made official.
