Getaway town in B.C. now has cell coverage

A small community in southeastern British Columbia couldn’t avoid the inevitable; Field now has cellphone coverage after TELUS built a new tower site along the TransCanada highway.
The village of 135 people is a well-known destination to get away from the rest of the world; The Calgary Herald reports residents aren’t too thrilled about the change.
The project is part of a plan by the B.C. government to connect over 1,700 kilometres of highway.
Many sections of the highway are still without cell coverage.
