Three more Cuban baseball players missing

Three more Cuban baseball players have disappeared from The World Cup of Women’s Baseball in Edmonton, just days after the team lost another member.

Last week, a 21-year-old outfielder defected to the U.S. using a valid Visa the team received to land in Chicago for a connecting flight.

According to The Calgary Herald, it’s suspected the three additional players are also defecting. To date no female players have defected from the tournament which also marks the largest number to have gone missing from the Cuban team.

The players are not considered officially missing by police because they were in the country legally and could leave the team of their own accord.
