Calgary asked to dim the lights

City officials are outlining new guidelines that would get residents and business to curb the amount of lights that remain on during the night.

Alderman Brian Pincott’s idea passed 11-2 in council Monday.

Pincott tells The Calgary Herald it will not only save money for the City of Calgary, but for businesses as well.

Calgary will not be the first municipality to adopt these guidelines; a similar policy exists south of the city in the Foothills.
