Elections Canada looks for Calgary Centre by-election staff

Elections Canada is looking for some 400 people to staff polling stations as part of the November 26th by-election in Calgary Centre.

Spokesman John Enright says they’re looking for people who live in the riding to fill the paid positions.

“The deputy returning officer gets just over $200 a day, while poll-clerks get just under $180 a day with up to four days of work available,” says Enright.

He says if they don’t find enough people to staff the some 200 polling stations in the riding, they could expand their search.
