Accused captor has long rap sheet, also a victim of crime

More details about the man accused of forcibly confining a woman and repeatedly sexually assaulting and beating her are coming to light.

Troy Jordan Lemke, 28, is facing a long list of charges after a 27-year-old woman alerted police on Wednesday about being held captive in a northeast home over a three-week period.

Police say the unidentified woman and Lemke had a domestic relationship at one time, and were together as recently as March.

Lemke will be in the prisoner’s box to answer charges ranging from assault causing bodily harm and sexual assault to uttering threats and forcible confinement on Monday.

In announcing the charges, police only stated Lemke was known to them.

A check of court records shows Lemke was in court back in January to face allegations of planning to use a golf club as a weapon and resisting arrest stemming from an incident back in March 2011; the trial on those charges is scheduled to resume in September.

He’s also scheduled to be in court in November, when a preliminary hearing will be held regarding a February 2012 home invasion robbery in the northwest.

Lemke and four others are accused of bursting into a home and threatening the man inside with an imitation firearm.

The Calgary Sun also reports Lemke was a victim of crime as well.

Back in October 2002, a couple of weeks after his 18th birthday, Lemke was pistol whipped and stabbed in an attack orchestrated by his older brother, but carried out by three others.

Those involved in the attack were arrested and convicted; in 2004 Troy Lemke filed a lawsuit seeking $450,000 in damages and the case is listed as outstanding.
