High River flood info session planned

Tensions could run high Wednesday at a government meeting in High River for flood affected residents.
The province says attendees will be able to meet one-on-one with local and provincial representatives, health officials, and representatives from Tervita to discuss the disaster recovery plan, flood mitigation, remediation, flood mapping, and other issues.
Municipal Affairs Minister Doug Griffiths will be there, along with High River Mayor Emile Blokland.
Sunshine homeowner Cindy Dupperon tells 660News she has issues about the province’s new flood fringe and flood plain map.
“I find it absolutely ludicrous that people who live in the flood plain, and maybe not necessarily got damage at all this time are offered a buyout, when we’re sitting here in broken homes,” She says.
The session begins at 6:30p.m. at ‘Ecole Senator Riley Middle School in High River with one on one discussions, followed by an address by provincial ministers at 7:30p.m.
