There could be some big changes on the Calgary Public Board of Education this fall as the board’s chairwoman has announced she will not run again.
Pat Cochrane is calling it quits after serving 14 years as a trustee.
Cochrane has not given a reason for the decision, but some suggest provincial funding constraints or bad press are major factors.
According to The Calgary Herald, another three trustees may also be planning their exits.
Undeclared incumbents Lynn Ferguson, George Lane, and Joy Bowen-Eyre have not yet submitted nomination papers.
