Review of queue-jumping at colon cancer screening centre complete

An external review of the Forzani and MacPhail Colon Cancer Screening Centre is now complete.

The review was ordered back in May of this year.

Brenda Huband, vice-president and C-O-O for southern Alberta with Alberta Health Services tells 660news on Friday, that they are quite pleased with the report

Huband also says that the centre will implement all of the recommendations from this report and the Vertes report.

She says, “We welcome the report. It has provided us with some clear recommendations that create a path for us to move forward and help us clearly identify the concerns and some of the remedies that will help us support the staff in insuring improper preferential access does not occur.”

The external report found that queue jumping did occur in the past and it also found that queue jumping is not occurring anymore.
