Two plus decades and going strong for ‘Youth Central’

Five youngsters are making a difference in Calgary.
They’re all part of ‘Youth Central’, which has been engaging with the younger crowd for over twenty years.
Last year, the volunteers contributed over 40,000 hours to the community, helping agencies with 922 projects.
One of those individuals is Alexandra Wadey.
She tells 660News, “I go to one or two, sometimes three, meetings a week depending on how busy we are with the different committees I’m a part of. I meet twice a year with Mayor Nenshi, where we kind of go over the things we’re working on on the mayor’s youth council. Along with attending different things, I’ve done a couple interviews, kind of just letting Calgary know about what we’re doing in the city as youth and how we’re promoting youth activism.”
Wadey adds as part of the mayor’s youth council, a campaign about distracted driving is the focus.
