Eggs could lower risk of dementia

If you worry about dementia, have an egg for breakfast.

Researchers say eggs are one of the best sources of two chemicals linked to the prevention of memory loss and a lower the risk of dementia.

They are about to begin a study in which, half the volunteers will eat two eggs a day for six months.

The scientists then plan to compare their memory, reasoning, verbal fluency and attention span to those who did not eat eggs, and expect to find a significant difference in mental functioning.
