The Calgary Zoo invites the public to say ‘farewell’ to the elephants

The saying goes “an elephant never forgets”, and they won’t soon forget this.

The Calgary Zoo has organized a series of events for the public to spend time with the animals before they’re gone.

The zoo’s three female elephants; Kamala, Swarna and Maharani are leaving for Washington D.C. to make a new home at the Smithsonian National Zoo.

Between March 15th and April 13th on weekends, the Calgary Zoo will hold 5 different events for the public, some of which include ‘rise with the elephants’, ‘elephant enrichment viewing’, ‘interpreter talks and activities’ and an ‘elephant farewell sleepover’.

All the times, prices and events can be found at www.calgaryzoo.com/events-activities/special-events/annual-events/farewell-celebration
