The head of the Calgary Film Commission is celebrating two Alberta-shot series getting Emmy nods.
FX channel’s Fargo picked up 18 nominations including outstanding miniseries.
The Discovery Channel’s Klondike also earned an Emmy nod for Outstanding Sound.
Luke Azevedo says this is an incredible way to promote film production in the Calgary area — as well as create hype for the city’s new film studio, aiming to open next year.
“It’s got a lot of Alberta talent directly related to it, and it really does showcase what the city and jurisdiction can do when given the opportunities.”
Azevedo says this will help them compete for projects regionally, nationally, and internationally.
