Provincial NDP holds leadership forum in Calgary

A lot of attention has been on the Progressive Conservative party in Alberta as of late and the provincial NDP party is looking to gain some notice itself.

That party also needs a new leader and the leadership potentials were in Calgary Wednesday night.

One of the hopefuls, Rachel Notley, the MLA in the riding of Edmonton-Strathcona told 660News how she hopes to get the votes.

She said, “So my leadership is about building a modern, progressive, forward-looking party that’s able to actually take on the Wildrose and the Conservatives and win and to reach out to Albertans who maybe in the past hadn’t considered voting NDP, but now under my leadership might give it a second glance.”

The other two candidates running are MLA of Edmonton-Calder, David Eggen and Rod Loyola, from Edmonton-Ellerslie.
