Tickets going fast for Stars Air Ambulance annual home lottery

Anyone hoping to relax in the lap of luxury in their brand new dream home better hurry up, as tickets are going fast for the annual Stars Air Ambulance Dream Home Lottery.
The 22nd annual edition boasts 3,227 prizes worth more than $5.3 million in retail and a new Lucky STARS 50/50 draw in which one lucky person can win up to $1.5 million.
There will be five grand prizes worth more than $3.9 million, including four beautiful fully-furnished show homes in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer and Lethbridge.
The fifth prize is a truck and a fifth-wheel trailer.
Grand and early bird prizes include 10 vehicles, 30 vacations, 1,695 electronic prizes, 1,413 other prizes that include cash, furtniture, jewelry and luggage.
This year’s dream house is in Crestmont and was made possible thanks to a relationship STARS has had with Augusta Fine Homes that’s lasted five years.
“Right from the first year, we’ve had a great relationship with STARS and Black INC. and found they gave us the opportunity to do our thing,” said Augusta vice-president Mike Plumton. “I think when you take a look at what STARS does in the community, it’s quite impressive with the amount of lives they save.”
Calgary Aviation Base Manager Mike Janke said this is one of their biggest fundraisers and it helps keep them in the air.
“We’re always researching better equipment, stuff to make our jobs not only for the pilots but for the air medical crew and the patient better, whether it be new ventilators or ultra-sound machines, we’re always trying to keep up with today’s new technology,” he said.
Those looking to get in on the fun can purchase single tickets for $25, as well as packages of three for $60, six for $100 and 18 for $250.
