Charges in Chaparral gunfire spree

The Calgary Police Service has charged a woman after a frightening gun-play incident in the southeast community of Chaparral.

Early Friday morning, police were called with reports of multiple shots fired in a house.

At least one of the bullets passed through the wall into the bedroom of the home next door where a neighbour was sleeping.

No one was injured.

Police used warrants to search the home where the gunshots originated and seized 29 firearms as well as ammunition and controlled substances.

A woman is facing 16 weapons related charges and another un-named suspect faces drug possession charges.
