Former national NDP director joins Notley’s team

The woman who’s moving to Alberta to be Premier Rachel Notley’s deputy chief of staff says the premier is doing remarkable work, especially with respect to climate change.
Anne McGrath — who has been serving as national director of the federal N-D-P — will be leaving Ottawa to take up her new position in January.
The move means McGrath will join forces again with Brian Topp, Notley’s current chief of staff, who, along with McGrath, was part of former federal N-D-P leader Jack Layton’s inner circle.
The federal N-D-P convention will be held in Edmonton in April, and party members will vote on whether Thomas Mulcair should stay on as leader.
