Hit and run driver still on the loose

Calgary police have released a vague vehicle description in hopes it lead to the driver responsible for a pedestrian hit and run in Calgary Tuesday evening.

A woman was struck just before 5:30 p.m. while crossing in the intersection of Bannister Road and Midlake Boulevard S.E.

Police say a driver turning onto Midlake Boulevard, clipped her and sped away from the scene.

The 27-year-old woman was taken to hospital in serious but non-life threatening condition.

The vehicle they’re searching for is described as dark-coloured pick-up truck with front end damage.

In a separate pedestrian accident, also Tuesday night, charges are pending against the driver of a truck that hit another 27-year-old woman crossing 32nd Street N.E.

She was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Speed and alcohol are not considered to be factors in the crash.
