March of Dimes offers tablets to residents with physical disabilities

A lot of people use tablets for entertainment purposes, but for people with severe disabilities, it could open up a whole new world.

The March of Dimes has received funds from a donor, allowing them to give away a number of tablets across the country.

Spokesperson Andria Spindel outlines who would qualify for the program.

“If they can tell us how it will enhance their life, what the disability is, and what their financial situation is, then they are eligible to compete, and depending on the available funds they have in each community — and we’ve chosen several cities, one is Calgary — then we will give away that many tablets,” she explained.

The deadline to apply is this Friday.
