The 54th Annual White Hat Awards happen Wednesday night, recognizing tourism and hospitality excellence in Calgary.
Over eight million people visit Calgary every year.
Shelley Zucht-Shorter with Tourism Calgary explains the awards salute those who don’t normally get recognized.
“Best server, cafe diner, best volunteer in the tourism industry, best barista, best bartender, best housekeeper — recognizing people that work behind the scenes to really make Calgary a fantastic place to visit,” she said.
The event starts at 7 p.m. at the Jubilee Auditorium.
