Blue-green algae advisory issued for Eagle Lake

It’s only a couple days into summer, and already a blue-green algae alert for a lake near Calgary. It covers Eagle Lake, southeast of Strathmore.
People should stay out of the water and keep pets away too.
Alberta Health Services also says, limit human consumption of fish from the lake, and don’t feed scraps to your pets.
Don’t even think about drinking the water because boiling it does not remove the toxins produced by blue-green algae.
In recent years, hot, dry weather has led to similar advisories for several lakes in southern Alberta.
