Rainbow crosswalk painted for Calgary Pride 2016

The rainbow crosswalk is back.
City crews and volunteers painted it Thursday night at Stephen Avenue and Centre Street downtown, right by the Calgary Tower, in honour of this year’s pride festivities.
It’s the second year in a row the crosswalk has been installed.
Last year, it was located on Macleod Trail, just in front of City Hall.
There was some concern it wouldn’t happen this year, but a fundraising campaign less than a month ago raised more than $8,000: double the goal organizers had set.
Over 60,000 people are expected to take in the Calgary Pride Parade Sunday led by writer, musician and filmmaker Rae Spoon, who is grand marshal.
