Yuletide traditions are coming to life at Heritage Park’s Once Upon a Christmas.
The weekend event opened Saturday for Calgarians looking to step back in time and celebrate the way people did at the turn of the century.
“It’s a great way to put yourself in the spirit of the holidays,” said spokesperson Barb Munroe. “So, a festive horse-drawn wagon ride with little jingly bells on the horses and carol singing, we have fire pits throughout the park [and] gingerbread cookie decorating. Of course we have Santa Clause here. Kids can sit down and get their photos with him in an antique vehicle.”
Once Upon a Christmas runs weekends until December 18.
