CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Julia Nowak-Wrobel’s illustration will be seen on one million liquor bags throughout the province.
The Grade 9 student from Monsignor J.J. O’Brien school was the overall winner of the 2019 SADD Liquor Bag Design Contest.
Her drawing depicts the tragic consequences of what could happen when some drinks and then gets behind the wheel.
There were more than 450 submissions from 386 schools, which is up from the 299 schools in 2017.
The submissions were judged based on originality, messaging, and design. On top of the overall winner, nine other entries were selected from three categories.
The SADD Alberta Liquor Bag campaign works with students from elementary all the way up to high school to help create a message about the dangers of drunk driving.
Nowak-Wrobel’s design will start to be distributed on May long weekend.
