Calgary Stampede Parade accepting applications until the end of January

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Although the new year is just starting to kick off, the Calgary Stampede is already preparing for this year’s Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.
The Calgary Stampede will hit Calgary in July this year and is already accepting applications for a spot in the 2020 Calgary Stampede Parade.

On Friday, July 3, the Calgary Stampede Parade will march its way down the streets downtown to officially kick off the 2020 Stampede, a tradition since 1912.
“The Stampede Parade is Calgary’s premiere showcase for dozens of charitable, community and social groups, along with our resilient corporate community, coming together to celebrate what makes Calgary great,” said Parade Committee Chair Jennifer Evangelista.
“In addition to the many colourful floats, crowd-favourite horse entries and the amazing marching bands that will make their way down the 4.8 km route, we will have the Parade Prelude, featuring many of Calgary and area’s entertaining dance troupes, musical performers and other street entertainers.”

The Parade is set to be broadcasted live to both regional and national television, with almost two million viewers watching from home and another 350,000 or so on the street watching the celebration in-person.
Those looking to be a part of the 2020 Calgary Stampede Parade only have until Jan. 31 at 4 p.m to get their applications in.
