Schanks sports bar locations to close

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – A Calgary sports bar franchise has apparently fallen victim to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sources confirm to 660 NEWS that Schanks Sports Grill, both the north and south locations, will not be reopening.

On social media, a picture of a notice on the door of one of the locations says the lease has been terminated.

Schanks has been in operation since 1994 and was one of the go-to spots to watch sports.

It featured everything from an indoor driving range to off-track betting.

The restaurant industry has been hard hit by COVID-19 because of extended closures and social distancing rules.
