Calgary restaurant not shutting down despite claims on social media

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – A 42-year-old restaurant in Calgary will not be closing their doors despite an online post stating that it was.

A post to Facebook claimed Nick’s Steakhouse was on the verge of closing because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mark Petros, the owner, said every small business has been hit hard during these times, but his restaurant has been able to adapt.

“By the 17th of March, we were closed for dine-in. We were doing long contact delivery and touchless takeout and we even invested in a whole new online ordering portal that makes it easier for people to order and thank god Calgarians have responded and they have been supporting us left right and centre,” he said.

“We are not going out of business, nor were we ever going out of business and it’s due to the fantastic support that Calgarians and the love from the Calgarians that have been supporting us for almost 42 years now.”
