More healthcare workers in isolation, additional death reported in Foothills outbreaks

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Alberta Health Services (AHS) has confirmed another death linked to the COVID-19 outbreak at Foothills Hospital.

That brings the total number of deaths to five since the outbreak was declared last month.

AHS also said 35 patients and 29 health care workers have tested positive for the virus so far.

The number of health care workers in isolation has increased to nearly 300.

Visitation at the hospital is still restricted to end-of-life situations or pre-approved essential visitors only.

AHS said contact tracing continues and enhanced screening measures among patients and health care workers are in place.
