CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Besides Calgary’s frigid temperatures reaching well below zero for the past week, other parts of the province have dropped well into the minuses, and ultimately broke records.
The coldest part of the province was in Henderson Creek, which is about 400 kilometres west of Edmonton which dropped to -45.3 on Tuesday.
Several spots near Calgary also broke records including High River, Claresholm, Cochrane, Drumheller and Banff where it was -38.7.
That broke a record from 1939.
According to Environment Canada, 53 records have been broken since the cold snap started.
