Man struck by CTrain in critical condition, police believe alcohol a factor

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Calgary police believe alcohol impairment could be a factor after a man was struck by a CTrain early Saturday morning.

In a release, police say they suspect a 28-year-old man was impaired by alcohol when he was hit by a southbound train in the tunnel north of the Victoria Park/Stampede CTrain station around 3 a.m.

The man suffered serious life-threatening and life-altering injuries, according to EMS. He was taken to Foothills hospital and remains in critical condition.

Police, fire crews and EMS attended the scene of the collision.

An investigation is ongoing.
