Man taken to hospital after assault in downtown Calgary

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — One man has been sent to the hospital in life-threatening condition after being assaulted with a weapon.

Calgary police were called to 5 Avenue near 6 Street S.W. Tuesday around 9:45 p.m. for reports of an attack.

Upon arrival, police say the man was taken to the Foothills Hospital.

No further details have been released as the investigation is ongoing.
