Tij Iginla, son of Jarome, drafted ninth overall by Thunderbirds in WHL draft

Tij Iginla, the son of Calgary Flames legend Jarome Iginla, has been drafted ninth overall by the Seattle Thunderbirds in the WHL draft.

Iginla, 15, recorded six goals and five assists in 10 games this season with the Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna U-18 in the CSSHL.
He also represented Team British Columbia in the WHL Cup, which won the 2021 tournament. Iginla had two goals and an assist in five games in the competition.
Iginla’s Hall of Fame father played three seasons in the WHL with the Kamloops Blazers, helping them win the Memorial Cup in 1994.
