A former teacher from a southern Alberta town has been charged with sexual assault stemming from an incident that happened in 2015.
RCMP in Didsbury, north of Calgary, say they received a report about the assault in Dec. 2021 that happened while the victim was in elementary school. The accused was working as a teacher at the time.
Harley Arthur Dickinson, 72, has been charged with sexual assault, sexual exploitation and sexual interference. He has been released on the condition that he doesn’t go anywhere that would involve people under the age of 16.
Police are now asking any other potential victims to step forward and speak with police. In the case Dickinson was using an alias at the time, police have released a photo of him to help other possible victims identify him.
Dickinson will be back in court on April 11.
