Single vehicle crash in northwest Calgary kills driver, severely injures passenger

A single-vehicle crash in northwest Calgary killed a driver and seriously hurt a passenger on Wednesday.
Calgary police say it happened in the community of Tuscany around 10 p.m.
A single vehicle collision last night resulted in the death of the driver and serious injury of a passenger.

A pickup truck driving eastbound towards a curve veered off the road and into a centre median, spinning out and hitting a boulder.
The truck then crossed into the oncoming lanes and rolled into a street light.
The driver, a man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger, a woman in her 20s was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police say speed and alcohol are being investigated as factors in the crash.
