Alberta’s online ‘Women’s Hub’ directory connects women to support and resources

The province has launched a new Women’s Hub directory which will connect women to services and resources that will help empower them to succeed at work, at home, and the community.

According to a government statement, the hub will be an online directory where women can search up support programs offered by the Government of Alberta.

The database focuses search results based on the person’s personal information and the type of service they are looking for.

“I have heard from many women in Alberta that it can be challenging to find the time to navigate government programs and resources to help them grow their careers, find health care, thrive in the wake of domestic and sexual violence, or get involved in their communities. I also heard from women across our province that they need a resource to help them find care for their elderly parents, educational choices for their kids and safe spaces to go to if needed. The Women’s Hub provides a way to easily and quickly find much-needed information for women who are already stretched for time,” said Whitney Issik, Associate Minister of Status of Women.

The Women’s Hub will consist of nearly 180 resources and supports and is part of the province’s economic and social recovery plan aiming to improve access to resources and expand virtual services.
