Kananaskis Country offering free day pass for National Indigenous Peoples Day

If you’ve been wanting to head out to Kananaskis, this upcoming Tuesday might be a good idea to go.
June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day and Alberta Parks announced it is waiving the K-Country entry cost as a result.

No conservation pass is required.
Typically a day pass would cost $15 per day or $90 per year per vehicle.
The pass was implemented in June 2021 to help pay for conservation, public safety, services, and facilities.

National Indigenous Peoples Day is a reminder “to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures, and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples,” according to the Government of Canada.
The day has been recognized in Canada since 1996.
