1 dead, 2 missing after boat capsizes in Spray Lakes, near Canmore

Canmore RCMP say one person is dead and two are missing after a boat capsized in the area of Spray Lakes campground.

Officers were called to Spray Valley Provincial Park around 2 p.m. Sunday for reports of a drowning.

When they got there, they confirmed one person died.

Mounties say there were four people on the boat when it keeled over: one managed to get to safety on their own, and officials are still searching for two others.

RCMP say to avoid the area while the search continues.
