Victoria, B.C. man found dead at Seebe Dam, near Banff

The RCMP says a Victoria, B.C. man was found dead in the water at Seebe Dam, about 40 mins east of Banff, over the weekend.

Investigators were called to the area just after 3 p.m. Aug. 19 for reports of an overdue traveller who was making his way from the Vancouver Island community to Calgary.

Police say he was reported to be camping in the area.

RCMP, RCMP Police Dog Services, and Kananaskis Search and Rescue searched the area by helicopter, but could not find him.

The next day, SAR members started looking on the water at Seebe Dam. A 29-year-old man’s body was found around 9:30 a.m.

Police say his death is not suspicious and no other information will be released.
