Glass panel falls off Calgary building, 5 Avenue opens up after delay

A pane of glass has fallen off a Calgary building onto 5 Avenue around 2 p.m. Wednesday, and opened up after closing for a couple hours.
The Calgary fire department’s technical rescue team were on the scene as they were trying to secure a loose panel on a building.
Police closed off an area around 5 Street and 5 Avenue SW to keep any drivers or pedestrians safe.

The fire department’s Carol Henke says the panel was in multiple pieces laid out on the road.
The road was cleared at around 4 p.m. Wednesday.
